Ubico fleet news
In recent months our in-house fleet team have been incredibly busy working with service commissioners to produce detailed vehicle specifications for new vehicles across our Cotswold, West Oxfordshire, Tewkesbury and Cheltenham contracts.
So far, we have taken delivery of five new refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) and a new 15 tonne sweeper on our Cotswold Contract. These vehicles replaced some of our older vehicles that had reached the end of their useful life.
On our Tewkesbury contract, we have taken delivery of 32 brand new vehicles to replace the entire fleet. Upon arrival, each vehicle must be checked against the order form to make sure that everything is correct, so that any issues can be resolved before we start using the vehicles.
When the RCVs arrive, our workshop teams are hard at work checking over the vehicles to make sure everything was in good order, before the Tewkesbury Borough Council and Ubico livery can be applied the cabs, radios installed and the vehicles are then sent out on the rounds.
As a company, we have a huge fleet department now; maintaining over 350 items including RCVs, Sweepers, smaller vehicles and plant. Certainly not a job for the faint hearted!
Most of our vehicle maintenance is carried out in-house and covers a wide range of services from MOT preparation work, routine servicing, responding to vehicle breakdowns and some more specialist adaptations and repairs. We currently operate out of four workshops in our Cheltenham, Stroud and Cotswold depots.
