News > Changes to Recycling Service: Cotswold District Council

From March 2020 the way in which Cotswold District Council collect their recycling is changing. New containers and an information pack will be delivered to residents in February 2020

What is changing?

Collection days for some residents might change, and the details and new collection days will be in the information pack that gets sent to residents. Once the service is live the dates in the online postcode checker on the Cotswold District Council homepage will be updated. Until March 2020 the postcode checker will have your current recycling dates in.

The changes mean that residents:

  • will get a new cardboard bag to give you more capacity
  • can recycle extra items including textiles and shoes, batteries, cartons and small electrical items
  • need to keep food waste separate and put it in your new outdoor food waste bin which is collected weekly
  • Refuse and recycling will still be collected fortnightly. Garden waste will switch from weekly to fortnightly.

What residents need to do

Residents need to make sure that you have the right number of recycling containers. They will need two recycling boxes, one for paper and the other for glass.

Details of how to order new containers, a video outlining the changes to the recycling service,  FAQ's surrounding the change, and information on what's happening and when can all be found at
