News > Ubico achieves recertification to ISO 14001 standard in Environmental Management
We are pleased to announce that we have officially achieved recertification of the internationally recognised ISO 14001 standard in Environmental Management, following an audit from NQA, an external auditor, whose standards are recognised as being amongst the highest in their industry.
The ISO accreditation scheme rigorously assesses, reviews and audits environmental management systems, procedures and documentation; ensuring the holders of the award have met the highest standards. Ubico originally received this standard in 2017 and has continually maintained high standards since, demonstrating a clear and proactive commitment towards the environment.
Beth Boughton, Interim Managing Director at Ubico said "We are delighted to receive recertification in the ISO 14001 standard in environmental management. We cover over 1200 square miles in our operations and are extremely lucky to operate in a beautiful and unique area of the country. We strive to make the local environment a better place to live, work and visit and this award demonstrates our commitment to minimizing adverse impacts on the environment. We will continue to maintain this high standard in everything we do"
Greg McDowall, Quality and Training Manager, at Ubico said "Achieving this standard is the result of the hard work and dedication of Ubico's employees. The award recognises our robust environmental management systems and underlines our commitment to minimising the environmental impact of what we do, the integrity of our operations and our respect for the communities we serve"
Ubico's ISO 14001 certification in Environmental Management accompanies our ISO 45001 certification in Occupational Health and Safety which the company received in April 2019.
