News > Ubico announces appointment of Interim Managing Director

Following the announcement of Ubico's Managing Director, Gareth Edmundson's appointment to the role of Chief Executive of Cheltenham Borough Council and his subsequent departure from Ubico, we are pleased to announce that shareholders have unanimously approved the appointment of Beth Boughton as the new Interim Managing Director of Ubico Ltd.

Previously the Operations Director, Beth has played a pivotal role in Ubico's growth since its formation in 2011, guiding Ubico through significant expansion whilst continuing to meet service level targets and leveraging economies of scale to provide best value to shareholders.

In her role as Operations Director Beth was responsible for all operations across the company and for maintaining the quality and cost efficiency of services. Beth provided overall strategic leadership to ensure health and safety standards were met, business risk was mitigated and policies were understood and adhered to. She has extensive experience in Operations and prior to Ubico Beth worked for Cheltenham Borough Council and Shanks Waste Management.

Gareth Edmundson, Ubico's outgoing Managing Director said:

"I am delighted that Beth has been appointed as the Interim Managing Director. Beth has driven significant change in Ubico since it was created, overseeing the company's rapid expansion and working with staff to strengthen and consolidate our business to become a nationally recognised and award-winning service"

Following news of her appointment Beth said:

"I am delighted to take on the role of Interim Managing Director until a permanent postholder is appointed. I feel privileged to have this responsibility and look forward to working with staff, as well as our external stakeholders, to ensure that Ubico continues its great work and is ready for the next stage of the company's journey."

Beth will commence her role as Interim Managing Director from 1 February 2020
