On Friday 5th July, we had a great day gardening in Gloucester with one of our charity partners, National Star. National Star enables young people with disabilities and acquired brain injuries to realise their potential through education and personalised learning opportunities, and by providing other transition and accommodation services.
We visited one of their residences, Foundation House in Gloucester to play our part in helping them build a sensory garden for residents.
8 volunteers from Ubico put on their gardening gear and spent the day digging a space for a pond, barrowing soil into a skip, and cutting back tree routes. We also had the pleasure of interacting with some of the residents who were wonderfully supportive of the work we were doing.
These gardening mornings are an excellent team building opportunity for Ubico staff, whilst at the same time giving much needed help to this incredibly worthy charity.
To find out more about the work National Star do and why we support them listen to our interview with Radio Gloucestershire here (from 22:22 to 28.00). You can also visit their website or make a donation via their website: https://www.nationalstar.org/
