HGV Technician Apprentice

Starting September 2024!

We are looking for an HGV technician apprentice to join our busy fleet team in South Cerney, near Cirencester, starting in September 2024! As an apprentice with Ubico, you’ll do a real job, so you can gain essential workplace experience, continue learning and earn a wage too!

We deliver a wide range of services so you will gain experience working on an extensive range of vehicles and equipment. The apprenticeship is 4 years in duration and we will support and mentor you, working with you to gain the skills and knowledge necessary for progression in your chosen career.

I started with Ubico as an apprentice, and since joining the business have worked my way up to workshop supervisor. It was great to gain experience and support on a wide range of vehicles and plant during my apprenticeship, and I now enjoy the variety that my job in the workshop brings me.

What do I need to know?

Can I apply before I am 16?

Yes, we just require you to be 16 before the qualification officially starts.

What qualifications do I need?

Two or more GCSEs at grades 9-3 including Maths and English, are desirable, but not essential. Our partner college offers foundation skills as part of the four year apprenticeship.

Can I choose which college I attend during my apprenticeship?

We partner with City Of Bristol College for this apprenticeship

What support will be available?

You will be assigned a supervisor who will ensure you gain the skills needed to complete your apprenticeship.

Will I be able to work for Ubico at the end of my apprenticeship?

This is an apprenticeship vacancy and you will be working towards a level 3 qualification and, on successful completion of the programme including attainment of the relevant grade you will be able to apply for a permanent position within Ubico, if one is available.

Will I need transport?

Due to the location of the depot, we ask that applicants live no more than 10 miles from South Cerney, Gloucestershire. We will cover any travel costs for any visits to college and will assist if applicants do not have a car
