Ubico Shortlisted for ‘Team of the Year’ at the National Recycling Awards!

We are delighted to announce that Ubico has been shortlisted in the Team of the Year category at the MRW National Recycling Awards. The MRW National Recycling Awards bring together recycling and resource management professionals to recognise and celebrate best practice and innovation in recycling and resource management.  

The Team of the Year award recognises the people in the sector who truly embody the spirit of teamwork. It celebrates those whose collaboration, attitude, and approach have led to outstanding success. This award highlights teams that others in the industry can look to for inspiration and learning - those who demonstrate what’s possible when individuals come together with shared purpose and commitment. 

Each year, our waste and recycling teams make collections from 369,297 properties across more than 1,300 square miles of towns, villages and countryside. In 2024/25, they made over 28 million visits with a collection accuracy of over 99.9%. Our teams also operate five household recycling centres, clean buildings, sweep streets, and maintain parks and green spaces. Their efforts helped ten parks retain Green Flag status and contributed to a 10% rise in compliments. 

Over the last five years Ubico have also experienced rapid expansion, adding Gloucester City and Forest of Dean’s environmental front line service delivery to our portfolio. This growth highlights our ability to scale and adapt to meet the needs of local communities. We have embraced innovative solutions to enhance efficiency across the business and have made significant strides in reducing carbon emissions throughout our operations. Amidst these changes our teams have consistently risen to the challenge, responding with enthusiasm and consistently delivering an excellent service.
